Unfortunately, the concept to merge keywords with the former fields “moods” and “attributes” into one field only is awful.

Agreed. I added a comment, although I doubt they'll listen. I've grown weary of their wilful stupidity. ::)

Considering it's a cache, I would expect it to eventually be updated to recognize these pages are no longer "valid"—they've been redirected to new pages at Rovi.

From the nature of the error message...

It seems that the same happens as in the google cache, because if you add in the search engine AllRovi URL is functioning normally, because when you add in the search engine old AllMovie URL does not work and displays the error mentioned above.
I strongly suspect that the server does not currently work, the more it is likely that this is really standing in the background for Rovi Corporation (this is their policy to completely forget the old AllMovie.com), which blocks the old AllMovie URLs with a specific tool that does not appear any more old AllMovie web pages.
But I hope to be wrong in this.

Edit:
Apparently I was wrong. Looks like a temporary server did not work, because now works again.

Google cache - can be a peaceful goodbye to him because all the old AllMovie URL redirects to the new AllRovi site (almost all of the URL).

I think the web archive is more effective anyway.

Old AllMovie URLs like...
http://www.allmovie.com/work/casablanca-8482 or
http://www.allmovie.com/work/8482

...now redirect to AllRovi, where this URL is formed like this:
http://www.allrovi.com/movies/movie/casablanca-v8482

Most of the movies in my database can be found in the WayBack Machine web archive using a URL like...
http://web.archive.org/web/http://www.allmovie.com/work/casablanca-8482.

Note the movie identifier needs to be exactly the same as what AllRovi now uses, without the 'v' before the ID number.

With nostra's help, I hope we can revise the AllRovi movie script to...

  • Convert existing AllMovie URLs to AllRovi URLs so no title search is required.
  • Construct the web archive URL from the AllRovi URL and save this in the URL and/or custom fields.
  • Remove the old AllMovie URL from the URL field.

Test of my old AllMovie Url, I'm at the end of which the ID number add suffix "/allrovi.com", for example: http://www.allmovie.com/work/10-things-i-hate-about-you-177526/allrovi.com  and came to the result that the AllRovi script looking for info and data transfer with AllRovi pages without having to script use search results function and then show window with titles of movies.

I think it would be easier if the script handled old URLs automatically. ;)

Yeah, I know it would be easier, but for now, this solution may be a good, until Nostra finds time to help solve the problem about this.

This seems like a ray of hope at the horizon.

I don't think so. They provide developers an API that will allow them to develop application that use their data. Access is limited to 5 minutes per call. The data is only available on an ongoing basis by subscription. And they don't appear to be in the business of providing subscriptions to end users.

Even if someone with a key wrote a script that would get data for their person "testing" use—5 minutes at a time—that script would only work with the API key held by the author. Providing the key to others would be a violation of the API License.

Now I have the API key, but I have not done test of how it all works and what kind of information can I get there.
