seen that my windows 7 can't see my nas in "my network" and i do not want to connect a network drive

I do not get it. Where is it then???

lol, ok, i understand your question, but you are missing the stupid way windows shows network devices automatically..
So, in your network you have your pc and your nas
In your "my network" in windows 7 you should see your pc, your nas (as computer devices!) and all the rest.. the gateway, also tvs (!!) and so on
more than that, you can simply mount a network drive on the nas and show it as drive (what you want) in your computer.

now, my qnap nas has a problem with latest firmware and can't be seen as simple computer device in "my network" and i'm not used to mount nas folders (for my disk on nas i use iscsi, all the rest is just shared) so if i want to access my nas i use a simple \\nasname

i cannot access the nas this way with PVD, and this is my problem!

and no way to use the server mode on the nas :(

Hi all,
i've a little problem with PVD
seen that my windows 7 can't see my nas in "my network" and i do not want to connect a network drive, i simply cant add video files from my nas to PVD, because AFAIK the browsing interface of PVD doesn't allow to insert an address.
So, i was wondering why PVD is using this strange thing instead of simple windows browsing window..

Second question: is there a way to leave the database file in a different folder? i'd like to leave the database file on the nas (so i could access it from 2 or more pc?), but i can't move it, PVD always creates a new database in the old location..
thanks and bye
