Support / Problem with name Urls

Hello everybody,

I don't know if this is actually a problem of my script or a general one. Everytime I use my plugin for iafd.com with a movie that contains special characters in the actor url, I get an duplicate entry in my people db.

For example I added a movie with Brittany O'Connel. The actor url is "http://www.iafd.com/person.rme/perfid=boconnell/gender=f/brittany-o'connell.htm". If I run the plugin three times on the same movie, I get three entrys - each of them has the exact actor name and url. There seems to be no difference in these entrys. All others actors are added only once.

I noticed this error when adding people with an ' in their url like O'Neil, O'Connel, ...

Maybe there is a workaround for my problem? I would be pleased to here from you.

Indeed I currently don't plan to extract those info (It's not really complicated, but a lot of cutting strings and appending them). Maybe I'll add the infos if there are custom fields for actors available one day...

Hello,

After some testing I declare my first script ready and want to share it with you. I guess some parts could be solved more elegantly, but I don't want to spend more energy on it.

Keep in mind that iafd has only very little information about the movie (and no posters) so most of the fields will not be filled.
What is HAS is a really consistent person database with names actors always by their real name (and the alternative name in () ).

Last but not least: iafd has some anti-robot protection, locking your IP for several hours (I only hit that limit once, must be somewhere >1000 requests per day....)

Add/update all your movies first. Then switch to People View and select all the records that need to be updated, and run your script. You can do that by sorting on date added or updated, or by grouping on Career (new records won't yet have one). You'll most likely want to run that with "Silent Mode" on—so the update is not interrupted by anything.

Are your scripts something you can share?

I'll give it a try. The Scripts are for iafd.com and can be shared when they are more stable (they work fine for known films but need some more error handling ...  :) )

I just finished my first two scripts for movies and persons. During movie import I'm adding all actors. Is is possible to run the person script from within the movie script to add a new person to the database? At the moment I have to switch to the movie, select the person, run the script and switch right back to select the next one. Got some more movies on my list  ;) and this is very annoying...
