Download this package:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/firebird/files/firebird-win32/2.1.3-Release/Firebird-2.1.3.18185-0_Win32_embed_pdb.zip/download

and replace existing files (in PVD directory) with the files from the package.

Thanks Nostra for your answer but I'm afraid I will need more detailed instructions...
What do you mean by embedded?
How can I do what you suggest (i.e. replace with the newer one)?

You have modified this database using Firebird 2.1 which is not compatible with Firebird 2.0 used in PVD embedded. So the only solution that I see for you is to replace the embedded firebird with the newer one...

Hi Deazo /Nostra,

while not entirely relevant to your problem,
Have a look at database fishing tool - http://daft.sourceforge.net/
it has saved my hide on more than 1 occasion.

happy new year to all.

 Hi all,

Sorry for a second post on an old problem I have already posted about.
I have not found a solution for this so this is why I am reposting.

The original post is this one:http://www.videodb.info/forum_en/index.php?topic=1542.0

I cannot open my movie database without Firebird running in the background anymore. I had originally installed firebird because I was testing the pvdimport plugin into Media center.
Unfortunately this kind off "locked" my database on firebird, and after installing, uninstalling, cleaning and so on, I still get an error message when trying to simply open the database without Firebird running. I am using my database on multiple computers and therefore need to install firebird on all of them and leave the service running at all time.

Nostra, you have asked me for my database file but it was too big (600Mb) to send and i did not find a way to use your ftp server. So I have just reduced it to one single movie and uploaded it on hotfile.com.
http://hotfile.com/dl/22931781/2213196/NOS_FILMS.PVD.html
Could you download it and have a look please?

Sorry for bringing this back on the table but I have finally some free time to take care of this.
Many thanks in advance.
