I did as you suggested and problem solved. Yes I did have a similar problem but with the Actor field. I was using the condensed skin (not officially supported).

From your description, it sounds like a problem with your skin. Can you see these fields if you switch to a different skin? If so, the easiest fix would be to replace the skins by downloading the zip package and extracting the skins to ..\Skins\Movies\.

You had a similar problem before. How was it resolved then?

I have a couple of fields that have disappeared (the fields existed in previous versions of PVD). In Preferences > Movies > Visible Items, the boxes are checked for the Producer and Studio fields and even though I have entered in data for those fields (in a previous version of
PVD ), they do not appear in the main movie database or during edit or add a new movie. I can search for Producer/Studio and I get the results of the previous entered data but these two fields do not appear in the main movie database.
