Since it was asked by rick some time ago...

Dolphin browser (which became more or less the standard browser for android) now can handle iframes. So the HTML frames template works fine with that, now.

Nevermind - I created the following template that works well

I was trying to get Android.ptm.zip, but it looks like it was deleted by the admin.
Does anyone have this and if so can they send it to me.

Thanks

this is incredible! imported 2000 titles in a handful of seconds on my phone, with enough details to browse while on the road...

big thank you!!!!

Thank you but it's not working, I still get the error.
I thought it was coming from the software you sent me and I tried to remove accents using python script in Notepad++ but I get the same error...
Not sure what is wrong.

I found a post advising to use a script (removebarchars) in AMC but I cannot open the database with AMC so I cannot run the script.

Remove Accents worked for me.

Thank you for script, I am trying it but get an error when importing into the pocket reader.
I am using the "western europe" encoding.

Brilliant.

Thanks so much for posting this quick and easy solution.  With 1100+ movies, it is sometimes hard to remember whether I already own a movie when I see an interesting title in a store.  I have been using Google "Sites" to simply upload a list.  It is great to be able to have my whole database with me at all times.

Thank you, thank you, and again, thank you.

It seems odd to get a response to a post almost two years old, but thanks. I finally got a smart phone, but forgot about this. This is not quite my dream of a PVD app that connects directly to the database, but it's well done. Fast, too. With 1400 movies, it's able to display things like all movies a person is associated with almost instantly. Thanks for the find, Zacca. Now all we need to do is convert the author to PVD... ;)

Welcome back, Zacca.

I don't have a smart phone, but I'm curious...Would an alternative be to use one svenne's templates to export HTML files, and then view these using the phone's browser? Or would they need to be modified for a hand held screen? And if that were possible, would there be advantages to doing it that way (e.g., easy access from browser, modifications, etc.)?

Yes, it is possible, but the only browser that can handle the "HTML Frames"-template is Firefox for Android, as far as i know. That might change in near future with further development of the other browsers. The problem is, that the other browsers don't provide vertical scrolling for the movie list.

Zacca

I am interested in following your suggestion for viewing my PVD database on my Android phone. However, I don't understand the step "From this 3d download...". Please can you clarify what is required?

Thanks
Julian

"Pocket AMC Reader" I think is a SQL viewer written for movie database. In a android phone works faster than a browser and with a better layout.
This program was written for Ant movie catalog and my xml export in this format.
BUT it's only a viewer NOT a editor for movie

Hi Nostra(tnx for the new version)...Rick...and ALL..
I'm here again ;D

After a long research i' v find the solution (a good program) to show all my movie on a android phone.

How to:

Download "Pocket AMC Reader" from the android market (on the phone)  ;)
From this 3d download the file (XML Android.ptm.zip)
Unzip it in the directory "personal video database/plugins/templates/"
Restart PVD
Export all your database whit this xml
Put all the files in a dir of your sdcard
Select the exported.xml in the setting of "Pocket AMC Reader"
Restart the program.
ps: if the poster is too small you can increase it changing the number "300" in the xml ......... Picture="{%value=poster height="300"}"

I v test my database with 966 movies and work fine.
