...by "List Title Formatting" do you mean the TREE View?

Yes, as set at Preferences > Movies > Title formatting.

i am assuming that when i sort by SERIES (Filter>Series) it is going to seperate the movies from the TV series?

Sorting and Filtering are independent. Use filtering to restrict the list to movies or series. Don't filter to include both the movies and series of the franchise (e.g., Star Trek, Batman).

Note the grouping can be set by right-clicking on any [Release] value.

Thanks for the reply.  I'll play around with it and see if it works.

I use the otherwise unused standard field [Release] to record the 'Movie Series'. That works well, as it provides the ability to sort and group by that value, and it can be included in the list title formatting.

Hello all,

Fairly new to the software.  I love it so far.  It's nice to be able to customize certain things to your liking.  My question here is related to viewing films by series.  I am a huge horror film fan, so as you know i have a lot of films in series....Nightmare on elm street, halloween, F13, final destination, children of the corn etc.

It would be nice to be able to link films to their series and then view.  Any idea if this is possible?  I thought there as an option in an earlier release, but i could never get it to work properly.  I was sort of hoping i could use a custom field to type a series name.  The same concept as adding a genre.  For instance, Freddy vs Jason needs to be linked to both F13 and NOES series.

Many thanks!  =)
