Welcome to the forum.
When I (and others) have seen this, we find one or more instances of ffmpeg running in Task Manager. Killing them all frees up PVD. I don't know what the cause is or how to fix it.
Just so we might learn more...
- Do you see the same thing in Task Manager?
- If so, does PVD respond after they're killed?
- Does the same thing happen when you run the screenshot maker again?
I haven't had the problem for quite some time. FWIW, I'm using
FFmpeg git-6c4e9ca 64-bit Static (Latest). You would need
FFmpeg git-6c4e9ca 32-bit Static (Latest) if using Windows 7 x32. From the readme...
