Downloaded that and changed the directory in setting in PVD, reran screenshot maker and same results, but now found out that if i kill ffmpeg in task manager, pvd unfreezes. Im going to try to uninstall and reinstall pvd and see if that helps.

Welcome to the forum.

When I (and others) have seen this, we find one or more instances of ffmpeg running in Task Manager. Killing them all frees up PVD. I don't know what the cause is or how to fix it.

Just so we might learn more...

  • Do you see the same thing in Task Manager?
  • If so, does PVD respond after they're killed?
  • Does the same thing happen when you run the screenshot maker again?

I haven't had the problem for quite some time. FWIW, I'm using FFmpeg git-6c4e9ca 64-bit Static (Latest). You would need FFmpeg git-6c4e9ca 32-bit Static (Latest) if using Windows 7 x32. From the readme...

It worked for me for about a week, then out of the blue, it just stopped working. I tried using a different version of ffmpeg and it still isnt working. Ill click on a movie and then "Automatically make screenshots" and then it gets stuck at "Creating screenshots for: ". Or if i use the automatic scan and it tried to make screenshots from there it get stuck. I cant click Cancel and i have to close PVD from Task Manager.  I have version 0.9.9.21 and i have Windows 7 Ultimate.
