Welcome back, nostra!  :)

As you have mentioned an update for the imdb scripts I would like to call your attention to two other issues regarding the script:

- After adding a new series I usually re-run the imdb script on the single episodes because I like to have all the information (such as actors, ratings, genre, url) for the single episode and not only the information from the overview site of the series. My imdb settings for the import of the description are “download full plot but only one”.  This works well when importing data for a whole series. But after the re-run on the single episode the whole plot is replaced by the partial description including “... See full summary »“.  If I remember right this were different a couple of month ago and therefore it might be related to a change of the imdb website.  In most cases I could avoid this as I set the override rules for the description field to no. But this is not helpful on series or seasons released shortly as the plot is often not available on the date of import.

- Another issue I am struggling with is the released date of movies and series not produced in the country where I am located when running the imdb script. If a new movie or series is produced IMDB shows under details the released date of the country where it is released first (which is – for me – in most cases the US released date).  But if the movie or the series is also released in the country from where you are connecting to the internet imdb replaces the released date by the released date in this country. Personally I prefer to get the original released date. (I have checked the imdb settings but I could not find a way to change this.)

For movies this imdb behaviour is regularly not a big deal as the released year between the US and Europe is often the same. But for TV shows it produces some strange results. For example the season 1 of the TV show “chuck” has already been shown here in 2009 but season 2 not. The latter has been released in the US in 2008. As a result PVD gives me for the episodes of the first season the year 2009 and for the second season 2008.  ???

Assuming this is possible it would make me happy if PVD does not use the released date from the main site of imdb but from the detailed released site and pick the first released date from there.

Btw, for Nostra:

In the last months it seems that IMDB has finally implemented the aka search in the main site, at least for the italian language it's no more a problem to search titles in italian  :)

So, being the one who suggested the aka search originally, i feel responsible if this little option is now not only useless but harmful ;)

After some testing, in italian only, it's clear that de-flagging the option is now almost mandatory in order to obtain correct results... hope I've been useful again, this little program still rocks  8)

Try to turn off the "aka search" under "tools - preference - plugin - IMDB  - confgure".

For some reasons for some movies the information collection process from imdb.com [EN] works (e.g. The Dark Knight) for others it does not (e.g. Casino, Memento, ..). In the latter cases the films are just not found and I got alternative film suggestions from imdb.

I have V 0.9.9.21 and the newest updates. Anyone knows?
