Yes, but maybe I will take some implementing a fix for this release date issue later.

I don't think it's a high priority, but when you do... Consider the option to choose the first release date for a specified country (or priority list of countries). The default should otherwise be the earliest complete date (and, if necessary, convert it to a full date).

I really want to get the development of new PVD going...

You mean all these feature requests are not automatically being added to 1.0?!  ;D

There's also no Release date for http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0317248/, but that appears to be because the main page uses the first date in the list, which happens to be "2002 (Russia)" in this case. I have no idea how often that sort of thing will happen, or whether the fix (downloading the Release Dates page and getting the first complete date) is worth the trouble.

Just to clarify... It seems you decided this is not worth the trouble. So if the main page Release date is expressed as just a year or a month and a year, it will not be retrieved. Out of 872 movies on my "wish list" only 64 are affected by this. Unfortunately, I not sure of the impact on other movies, because I've been fixing them as I go. The example I gave is a bit worrisome. The problem doesn't arise because the movie is obscure. On the contrary, it's very popular and there's a long list of release dates. Unfortunately, an imprecise release date in the first year ends up at the top of the list, and that's the one used on the main page. ::)

Duration still doesn't work consistently. It works for...

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0137523/
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0099685/ and
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1375666/

...but not for...

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0034583/
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0317248/ and
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0986233/.

I don't see any pattern. ???

No. Release date is not working either. More casualties of the IMDb redesign, it seems.

BTW, in case anyone is interested (i.e., largely off-topic)...

AFAIK, there's no "category" at IMDb, and Category has never been filled by the IMDb plugin. I'm not sure of it's intended purpose—it may be used by other plugins. I fill it with Allmovie "themes."

Release is not used by plugins, but it's handy for other things because it supports sorting and grouping like other standard fields, and can be used in the list title format. I use it for "movie series."

The IMDb plugin will download Box office, but the data isn't very useful because it's not consistently aggregated. The plugin can only get one number from a list of "gross" figures. That's never worldwide gross, although that's sometimes in the list. It's sometimes domestic (USA) gross, but is often just the last weekly figure (which might be the same thing). If this information is important, I recommend getting it manually using a Box Office Mojo (the source of the IMDb data) Web search...

I am using version 0.9.5.7 of the IMDB movie plugin and am failing to get movie duration on import.  I believe this was also true on the prior version of the plugin.  Allmovie plugin works fine.  Is this just me?  Am I missing a setting?  Thanks for any help............
