Edit file path of several entries
« on: September 24, 2015, 07:54:03 pm »
Hey,

I had to move files from drive to drive. These caused a change of drive letter for several files, which are entries in my pvd db. I am able to filter on the concerned entries, but now I need a tool in order to update the first letter only of the "file path" column information. I could not find any method on doing that so far. Can somebody give me a hint?

Do you have to move files from drive to drive in your computer or you do it on an external disk.

According to this information by other users easier to help and answer your question.

On my computer.

Ok, I recommend that at the search by typing the word "csv" and then in the results, you will find described how this could be done.

You can also look at older Rick.ca answers, even there you may find the answer or help to resolve your problem.

Have you thought about re-scanning the location?
Click on:
Personal Video Database -> Tools -> Scan for new movies/Changed paths.
then point to new directory where movies are located.
It should update the path location.
(it will tell you path change)

CAD, thanks for the advice and assistance of other users.

This will come in handy in the future when you will have to move the movie files from drive to drive (this will be the right solution).

Even for me, this is the right thing.
