Mass Editor: Adding instead of replacing

I have a lot of documenteries which need to be tagged with serveral tags for a quick access. When using the mass editor I want to add some tags to the highlighted documenteries -- but instead the new tags wipe out all the older tags. Is there an option to add instead of replace?
