Double Entries in Films
« on: March 03, 2013, 06:56:20 pm »
Lately, my PVD 0.9.9.21 with the IMDB plugin 0.9.8.12 which I am still using (with he <span> bug) started to act strangely:

I press the button for "new movie master", enter the film name and date and press the "Go" button. After searching it comes up with a window and give me a selection of titles. Usually it is the first one. I tick the box next to the film and press the OK button. Then usually, I get "No movie found" message and press the OK button on it. The program continues searching and a new window opens to chose the cover of the DVD. The little square box next to the Names of the Film, cannot be ticked anymore (?) so I click on the name and press the OK button. "No movie found" is usual (using Amazon.com).

Then suddenly I get in the PVD, two films (see my first enclosed picture) with the same name and the same DVD or Bluray cover !!!
The only difference between the two entries is the URL. One has http://www.imdb.com/title, etc. and the second entry has http://imdb.com/title etc.

Anybody knows what has changed or is happening ???
Many Thanks,
Gear

I remember I got the same issue, but I didn't have the time to deal with it. The "workaround" for me was to press cancel second time movie appears to be chosen.

In the past, the second window was to chose the cover. Even if I press "Skip" on the second window, a third opens and maybe it is the 3rd window which asks for the film's cover....

I will try that solution to see what happens and report.

Thank you for the hint!

I have fixed the problem with imdb plugin.
As for the movie selection list:
Selected (not check) or "greyed checked" means "download into the current movie record"
Fully checked means "add a movie record with this information"

I think I will remove this behavior as it is indeed really confusing.

I tried your "greyed checked" and it works properly but still cannot check the corresponding DVD cover on Amazon.com plugin. The PVD loads only the poster from Imdb.
Any further instructions ?
Many thanks,

Stay tuned. I will check if the amazon plugin needs to be fixed as well.
