Missing Icons
« on: September 23, 2012, 12:35:11 pm »
PVD 1.0.2.3 Beta
5590 Visible Movies
Total size of the movies: 9 TB 800 GB 944 MB
Total Duration of the Movies: 855 Days +

Windows 7 64bit Sp 1

Thanks for this great software that up to now has given be no real problems.

I now find that I am losing icons from the interface:

Scenario 1

When adding episodes I get the Season: Episode: Title: Original Title: fields fine. but not the tick or + icon.

Scenario 2

In the Mass Editor with the Field: set to Wish and the value set to either Yes or No I get no icon (I think it should be a tick sign)

I have removed and reinstalled PVD with no change in this behavior.

I have included some of the statistics from PVD in case this could be a source of this problem after seeing something about there being a 1000 movie limit to the db

I have been using PVD for over a year with statistics similar to these with no problems other than perhaps using the skin refresh more often.

Hope someone is able to help me with this :)

Colin

Sorry, I have no idea what might be causing this that wouldn't be fixed by reinstalling. I suppose the configuration file survives a reinstall, but I don't think there's anything in there that would cause this. There is no limit on the size of the database, nor can I imagine how the size could impact something like this.

Where the icons are missing, is there a blank space? If so, do you see a blank button when hovering over that space? And if so, do you get the expected result when clicking it? It might be helpful if we can establish clearly whether this is a matter of the program not being able to locate the button image, or if something else is going on.

"Where the icons are missing, is there a blank space?"

No Blank Space

By using the tab key I can work around the problem in the Episodes scenario so the actual functions seems to be working OK.

I also updated Java (not sure that its relevant) but no change.

Hmm. So it seems 'something else' is going on. Maybe nostra will have some idea.

It seems the workaround for the editor is to press <Enter> while still in the 'Value' box. A tab will not advance to the button.

Thanks for your efforts and especially for the tip on the editor work-around.

Do you know where I should find the icon images in PVD's file structure?

{Installation Folder}\Skins\Images

There's nothing you can do with the images there. Modifying or renaming them will only cause program exceptions.
