Saving a Database on a NAS System? (Error 401)
« on: February 15, 2012, 06:47:25 pm »
Hello together,

i recently Downloaded the latest version of PVD and installed it on a LOcal PC.
Then i opened the Programm and created a new DB, the DB should be located at my QNAP NAS System.

But when i click on the save Button i get an Error with the Code 401.

Where is the Problem?

Is this a problem with RW-Permissions?
Anyone knows maybe how i have to configure my NAS that this works...
Or is there another issue?

Would be nice if someone could help.

Thanks.

You need to install firebird and configure server on the NAS (Firebird runs on Windows and Linux systems) first and then connect to this server from PVD.

Hello nostra,

thanks for your answer.
Okay i hope i did understand this right (my English got a little bit rusty the last few years i didn't need it).
I have to install the Firebird SQL on my NAS Server?
Than i have to connect to the Firebird Server Part so the DB works?

Damn, i even looked before answering your Post on the QNAP Forums an realized that this is not so easy.

Okay thanks for the information, i will have to try this.
