database error code 249...help
« on: December 10, 2011, 10:20:55 pm »
was using PVD today adding some new files, saved and closed normally. when tried to re-open got following error:

Dynamic SQL error
SQL error code = -206
Column unknown
Movies.ind
At line 1,column 31
Column does not belong to referenced table
Error code:249

what does this mean?
can I extract the printed data to another database like MS Access
I have close to 3000 movies filed on PVD....how can I get it back?
 :'(
using ver. 0.9.9.21 Win Vista64

It is generally a good idea to back up your data once in a while, especially if you have such a big collection...

First create a backup copy of you currently have.
Then check out this thread: http://www.videodb.info/forum_en/index.php/topic,2145.0.html

I found an earlier copy...just remembered that I image my hdd once a month.  :)
Maybe they could consider an "autosave" feature where it backs up the file at specified time intervals, similar to MS Office, on the next edition.

The file is saved every time you make changes, but it will not help you if it gets corrupted due to file system errors or HDD failure.
