Sorry, but I still do not get it.
Can you provide a good practical example yourself?

I like to sit back on the couch and use a wireless mouse. I don't like
to be pestered with having to enter text with a keyboard/On-Screen keyboard.

because I add new movies to a directory structure such as:

As you can see from above, the movies that have not been placed within a FAIR, GOOD or T.Waster direcory
as yet, have not been rated by me as yet and moved to another directory.

So I got to thinking what about adding a 'Browse by Directory' or 'Open Directory' option under the 'File' menue.
This way it would save mehaving to enter text in the Search box for File Path.  With the option above,
I could use it and browse to a directory already scanned by PVD and thereby allowing me to see the listed
movies within it.

This saves me having to open windows explorer, then first, browse to the directory contain the movies and then
goto the address bar and copying the address just so I can now go back to PVD and enter in the Search Box this
copied File Path.
All this just to be able to see what movies are within it.

Hope the above helps you to understand a little better.

rick.ca:
Why are you using the file system to organize movies? That's what PVD is for. ???

nostra:
OK, now I understand what you mean. I wanted to implement this feature long before, but as it turned out it was a much bigger change as I thought and it would really not pay out in the end...

leogets:
What about adding a 'Browse by Directory' or 'Open Directory' option under the 'File' menue;
Would this also be hard to incoperate into the new version?
When ever you select this option and then what-ever directory you choose to open; the window will display File Path and automatically input into the Search box the text of the folders path you have selected.
