imdb script: aka field with country entries

(1/2) > >>

minolotus:
I think it would be nice if the imdb script has an option to keep the country info for the aka titles. Currently PVD removes the country and shows the aka titles only. If a movie has more than one aka title in the same language, you can’t find out to which country the respective title belongs to.

nostra:
Its kind of problematic as it will mess up searching by this field - you do not want those countries while searching...

rick.ca:
It would be rather unusual for a user to do an Advanced Search for AKA equals something. Any regular search, and a more sensible Advanced Search, would be for AKA contains something—a partial or complete title. Either way, such a search would be unaffected by the country being appended.

nostra:
Why is that? There can be country names in movies titles... (I get 12 movies when I search for America for example using all titles filter)

minolotus:
For me it is a rare case searching for a movie title with the name of a country only. Even so, if the country is added to the aka field with brackets, it would be possible to enter into the search field the country + space to clear the search results from the “wrong” search results.

However, if this would be only an additional option in the settings of the script, the users could decide themselves what would be more important to them.
