Hi, firstly, PVD is awesome. Thanks for creating such an amazing app.

Since upgrading to ver 0.9.9.21 I have not been able to get the Tools-> Prefs-> Appearance-> Colors to co-operate. Initally after install, all the catagories were black (which seemed odd, but I can't remember what they were when I first started using a previous version of PVD) and after changing them, the new colours aren't reflected in the main film list.

I'm using the default skin on Win7 64bit and everything else in the program is working perfectly.

Any ideas??

Thanks in advance,

Andy.

I think someone here had the same problem. As I can recall it's something with Win7 themes. Please try to search "Support" board, until someone else could help you.

You can start with this.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply, I did see that post but it didn't match my issue, everything on screen looks perfect, no missing textures or dialog boxes, just the film list colours are missing (for seen / loaned etc...)

I have also tried disabling Aero and faffing about with Win7 themes and still no joy. The menu colours etc. update as they should if I alter the Windows system colours, but still nothing in the film list section.

In case it matters, I have an nVidia Quadro FX1700 card. The older version (which I was running up until a few days ago) was on exactly the same system with no new drivers or system alterations. All I did was upgrade to ver 0.9.9.21.

Its not a major issue, just a tad annoying that I can't work out why its not working!

Thanks again,

Andy.

Here's my color's section set in pvdconf.ini

Quote
[Colors]
DoListColors=1
DoMovieColors=1
DoUnderlineLinks=1
Color0=16777215
Color1=65535
Color2=14070145
Color3=255
Color4=16706549
Color5=14548976
Color6=8388608
Color7=8388608
Color8=8388608
Color9=8388608
Color10=8388608
Color11=8388608
Color12=12615808
Color13=11445088
Color14=0
Color15=16777215

Can you compare it with yours? If there are differences, I'd make a backup of pvdconf.ini, then copy/paste quoted selection, then restart PVD, but I wouldn't recommend to anyone else to try this.

In your display settings, try setting the number of colors to 16 bit or higher.  It sounds like you're running in 256 color mode right now.

Cheers fo the replies guys,

I'm running a twin-head setup up at 1280x1024 @ 32bit so the colour depth isn't an issue.

Oddly enough, I don't have a pvdconf.ini file anywhere in my c:\prog files\PVD folder or subfolders. Even di a full blown dos search of my hdd including hidden files and came up empty.

I've just nabbed the main program zip file from the web and there's no pvdconf.ini file in there either. This appears to be part of the issue.

What's the full location of the conf file just so I can be doubly sure I'm not being daft and missing it!

Thanks again.

Andy

Scrap that last bit, found it!

This is my listings...

Quote
[Colors]
DoListColors=1
DoMovieColors=1
DoUnderlineLinks=1
Color0=16777215
Color1=8454143
Color2=16744448
Color3=65535
Color4=12615935
Color5=8421440
Color6=10485760
Color7=10485760
Color8=12615680
Color9=65535
Color10=10485760
Color11=8388608
Color12=16744576
Color13=8421440
Color14=0
Color15=0

Originally DoListColors was set to 0, so excitedly I changed it to 1 thinking the boolean was wrong but still no joy!

Same problem running XP, same solution ... which means I haven't a clue as to which value in the ini file caused the problem.  Ah well, a working kludge is better than an elegantly wrong theory.   :D :D

I have used to say computer issues should be treated as a headache - you shouldn't be interested in what exactly caused it, but how to get rid of it. Otherwise, you risk a headache for which knowing a reason that caused it won't help you to get rid of it. ;D
