Two TV series with the same name
« on: May 23, 2010, 11:06:57 pm »
I have the 1963 version of Doctor Who in my database.  I tried to import the first season of the 2005 series of the same name (using the scan folders tool) but it overwrote the first season of the 1963 version.  The files are named "Dr Who (1963)" and "Dr Who (2005)" on my disk.  How do I successfully import both series?

Use Movies - New to add Title: "Dr. Who" and URL: "http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0436992/". Import the series using the IMDb plugin. Then scan for media.

That worked.  Thanks.

I got confused at first when the new series did not appear it its proper position in the list.  So I didn't think it had worked.  I finally found it at the top of the list.  When I reopened PVD it was in the proper place.  Is this the way it is supposed to work?

Yes, that is by design—so you will find the new record, regardless of how long the list or what filters are set. The list re-sorts and filters are applied on any action that refreshes the screen.
